HEMA Building in Herestraat Groningen Sold to Consortium of Northern Investors
The iconic HEMA building on the Herestraat in Groningen has been sold. The seller was advised in this transaction by JLL. The buyer is a consortium of private investors from the Northern Netherlands.
The Herestraat is the prime retail street (A1 location) of Groningen and is known as one of the busiest shopping streets in the Northern Netherlands. The area is undergoing significant changes: in particular, the redevelopment of the former C&A site is giving the street new momentum and contributing to the further improvement of the retail area.
HEMA has been located on the Herestraat for nearly one hundred years and has become a household name in the city of Groningen. As a large department store with a wide assortment of everyday products, the store attracts a steady flow of visitors each day, from local residents to tourists and shoppers from the wider region. Its central location and iconic character make this property a stable investment at a prime location. The building offers a lettable floor area of approximately 5.000 sqm.
The buyers were advised in this process by NEXTFUND Vastgoedadviseurs and DP Vastgoed – Consultancy.
